At Shreemeenamaa Foundation, we believe that true empowerment begins with economic independence. Through our Livelihood Development initiative, we help individuals — especially women, youth, and marginalized communities — gain the skills and resources needed to earn a sustainable income and lead a life of dignity.
We work at the grassroots level to identify untapped potential, provide practical skill training, and create linkages to job opportunities, self-employment, and micro-enterprises.
Livelihood is more than income — it's empowerment, identity, and hope. When individuals have the means to support themselves, they become confident contributors to their families and communities. Livelihood development is the key to breaking cycles of poverty and creating lasting change.
More than 100 women have successfully set up small businesses from their homes or communities — from tailoring units and beauty parlors to home-cooked food services and handmade crafts. We provide them with start-up support, mentorship, and help them access markets to sell their products or services.
We’ve facilitated the creation of over 20 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), where women pool their savings, access micro-loans, and invest in group income-generating activities. These SHGs are registered and linked with local banks for credit, ensuring long-term financial support and inclusion.
We have trained more than 500 individuals — mostly women, unemployed youth, and marginalized community members — in practical skills like tailoring, handicrafts, computer basics, beauty services, and food processing.
