Our Purpose

Livelihood Development

At Shreemeenamaa Foundation, we believe that true empowerment begins with economic independence. Through our Livelihood Development initiative, we help individuals — especially women, youth, and marginalized communities — gain the skills and resources needed to earn a sustainable income and lead a life of dignity.

We work at the grassroots level to identify untapped potential, provide practical skill training, and create linkages to job opportunities, self-employment, and micro-enterprises.

Key Initiatives Include

  • Vocational Skills Training
  • Offering hands-on training in tailoring, beauty and wellness, computer literacy, handicrafts, and other income-generating skills tailored to community needs.
  • Formation of Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
  • Helping women come together in groups to save, access micro-loans, and start group-based enterprises — building financial independence and mutual support.
  • Entrepreneurship & Micro-Business Support
  • Guiding aspiring entrepreneurs with business training, seed funding, mentorship, and access to local markets to start and grow small businesses.
  • Youth Career Development Programs
  • Equipping young men and women with soft skills, digital literacy, and job-readiness training to improve employment prospects and build sustainable careers.
  • Rural & Agro-based Livelihood Support
  • Empowering farmers and laborers with modern farming techniques, collective farming models, and market linkages to increase rural incomes.

    Why It Matters:

Livelihood is more than income — it's empowerment, identity, and hope. When individuals have the means to support themselves, they become confident contributors to their families and communities. Livelihood development is the key to breaking cycles of poverty and creating lasting change.

    OurImpact Highlights

At Shreemeenamaa Foundation, our Livelihood Development program has touched hundreds of lives by transforming hope into opportunity. Here’s a closer look at how our efforts are making a meaningful difference:

    100+ Women Launched Micro-Enterprises

More than 100 women have successfully set up small businesses from their homes or communities — from tailoring units and beauty parlors to home-cooked food services and handmade crafts. We provide them with start-up support, mentorship, and help them access markets to sell their products or services.

20+ SHGs Formed and Linked to Banks

We’ve facilitated the creation of over 20 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), where women pool their savings, access micro-loans, and invest in group income-generating activities. These SHGs are registered and linked with local banks for credit, ensuring long-term financial support and inclusion.

500+ Individuals Trained in Income-Generating Skills

We have trained more than 500 individuals — mostly women, unemployed youth, and marginalized community members — in practical skills like tailoring, handicrafts, computer basics, beauty services, and food processing.
